Dysport, used to treat forehead wrinkles and frown lines, has been referred to as BOTOX’s twin or first cousin. Like BOTOX, Dysport is an injectable form of botulinum toxin Type A. Small amounts of Dysport are injected into the wrinkle-causing muscles, paralyzing them.
According to research, the biggest difference between Dysport and BOTOX is that Dysport may act quicker. BOTOX takes three to five days to fully be effective, while Dysport seems to work within one to two days. In some cases, wrinkles begin to fade as soon as 24 hours after receiving a Dysport treatment. Side effects are similar to those with BOTOX. At your consultation, we will discuss these with you.
